ON VIEW IN THE S. WILSON AND GRACE M. POLLOCK EDUCATION CENTER GALLERY FRIDAY, May 18 – August 5, 2018

The Susquehanna Art Museum welcomes Emalee Douglass as the second student curator for the S. Wilson and Grace M. Pollock Foundation Education Center Gallery.  Currently a senior at Lower Dauphin High School, Emalee will be a Visual Studies major at Temple University and Tyler School of Art this Fall.  Emalee hopes to pursue a career in the arts.  Among her many professional interests are exhibition design and curating, therefore Emalee is grateful for this opportunity to curate Perceptions.

“I love how humans, especially artists, perceive other humans and their form. What is beautiful? What is powerful? I looked for emotion and expression through portraiture of many different forms.” -Curator, Emalee Douglass

Identified by her art teacher Dana Attivo, the museum invited Emalee to develop a concept and title for this exhibition, as well as select all the works from the 2018 Artistic Expressions exhibition. Artistic Expressions features the works of exemplary student artists from secondary schools throughout Central Pennsylvania. Coordinated by area art educators, the mission of Artistic Expressions is to bring together students from a multitude of different secondary schools with aspirations and endeavors in the fine arts within exhibition opportunities, collaborative events, and education. For more information about Artistic Expressions please visit www.artistic-expressions.org.
