Saturdays this summer
SAM’s youth art programs explore art making, art history and art appreciation, providing a quality art education experience where students have the opportunity to learn from original works of art in a museum setting. All classes provide a forum where self-expression, experimentation, and cultivating a sense of inquiry are integral parts of the educational experience.

SATURDAY MORNING ART CLUB

Parents, spend a relaxing morning in midtown. While your young artist creates a masterpiece, you can grab a cup of coffee, shop at the Broad Street Market, take a brisk walk, or visit the galleries here at the museum!
Madison Pollihan leads this 9-week summer session! Each class features a new inspiration, technique and material. Madison invites your youngest artist to explore the scenery and animals of the Susquehanna River, Harrisburg’s cityscape, and your student’s own personal surroundings through art, using different mediums. These explorations will be rooted in art history and students will also learn how to create some of their own art supplies.
