B AWESUM Women’s Creative Workshop: Creating Healthy Visions for Women

Join one of our most popular instructors Melanie Gaskins for a unique 4-class workshop that empowers women through art! Workshop dates are on Wednesday evenings: PLEASE NOTE, THERE HAS BEEN A CHANGE IN DATES:July 26, August 2nd, 9th, 23rd and 30th at 6:00 – 8:00pm. Light Refreshments will be available!

This workshop is for women experiencing a transition from one life journey into another. Melanie will guide participants through creative experiences geared toward self-reflection, healing, changing and succeeding! Be fearless! Be strong! Be artistic! B Awesum! 

Melanie’s goal for each student taking these classes is to offer an outlet, a unique way to see her own beauty, a vision for hope and path for peace. Her artwork will serve as a daily reminder to smile, be proud and stay positive throughout her journey. 

Session 1 (August 2): I See Me! – Defining your artistic eye using pencil, charcoal & acrylics on paper and canvas.

Session 2 (August 9): My Story! – Visually tell your story through words, symbols and distinctive artistic art techniques from the 7 continents. Utilizing paper mache, acrylics and markers. 

Session 3 (August 23): My Bright Bold Beautiful Tomorrow! –  pencil, charcoal and watercolor. 

Session 4 (August 30): Complete my the Vision – Create a 30-,60-,90-Day Vision Board Collage- mix media

Fee includes all 4 sessions: $60*

Monthly Instructed Life Drawing Class

Wednesday Evenings:  July 19     NEW DATES: September 13, October 18, November 15, December 13, January 17, February 7

Individual classes with one or more models for intermediate/experienced artists, designed to provide practice and skill-building in representing the unclothed human figure. Each session will be moderated by an artist instructor, and will include demonstrations, timed gesture drawings, and several extended poses. Drawing materials such as charcoals, pastels, pencils, oil pastels, ink, newsprint and drawing boards and easels are provided, however artists are encouraged to bring your favorite drawing supplies and paper for extended poses.

Lab hours 6:00 – 9:00pm

Ages Adult (+18, High School Seniors with parent permission)

Class Limit 15, Please RSVP in advance

Fee $20 per class, or 3 classes for $55
