Monthly Instructed Life Drawing Class
Artists of all levels are invited to this opportunity to hone observation and drafting skills. The benefit of studying the human form is that you begin to see the beauty in art, in humanity, and in your own expression. Bring your favorite drawing supplies, or come with none. We begin with a number of quick gesture drawings and work up to 30 – 40 minute poses.
Please register in advance for the upcoming class on October 24, 6:00 – 9:00pm. This is the last class for 2018. The class, held in the main gallery, will feature live music by house pianist Ralph Diekemper.

Yoga in the Main Gallery
If you are looking for a new challenge for your body, that offers a new perspective for your mind, try Yoga in the Galleries. This is more than a yoga class. It is also a live interactive installation, led by an experienced instructor, where participants explore both movement and stillness amidst the artwork currently on view. These Saturday-morning sessions take place while the museum is open to the public, and in a shared space with all other museum visitors. Those who are interested in Yoga in the Galleries generally have open minds and free spirits. They enjoy experiencing art in new ways, especially when their response is inspired by, or can inspire, another person! Share this unique experience with a friend, or treat yourself to a new way of experiencing art and yoga.
Saturdays October 13, 20, 27, November 3, 10, 17, 10:00am – 11:15pm
Shani Jones is our instructor. She will be leading the flow from her mat, with inspired visual and verbal cues! A student of yoga since the mid 90’s, Shani has spent 1000+ hours in teacher training programs and over 5000 hours of actual teaching time. Shani completed her first teacher certification with Don and Amba Stapleton and completed advanced teacher training certification with Shiva Rea.
This class is for adults 16+. Teens age 13 – 16 may participate if accompanied by an adult. All levels of experience welcome. Contact TSell@SusquehannaArtMuseum.org with registration questions. $18 per class, 3 classes for $45. Museum members enjoy a 10% discount on all fees.
